The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is a key executive responsible for shaping and driving the Bank’s commercial strategy, with a core mandate to drive sustainable revenue growth across credit, factoring, and cash management services. The CCO will lead the commercial teams to originate new business, expand into targeted markets, and deepen client relationships. The role is central to the Bank’s growth agenda, contributing directly to profitability, product innovation, and competitive positioning. The CCO also acts as a strategic advisor to the CEO and works collaboratively with other senior leaders to align commercial initiatives with regulatory, operational, and financial frameworks.
Primary Responsibilities:
Demonstrated commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with a proven track record in driving growth and profitability within a Bank or financial institution .
In-depth knowledge of credit products, including loans and factoring as well as credit assessment methodologies.
Strong understanding of cash management solutions and their application in client servicing.
Extensive knowledge of EU and Maltese regulatory frameworks
Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a client-focused and results-driven mindset.
Leadership capability to build and manage high-performance teams across business development and product lines.
Ability to balance commercial growth with sound risk management and operational execution.
A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in banking or financial services, including substantial exposure to credit and cash management.
Prior leadership across multiple commercial domains
Experience managing diverse revenue streams
A degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, ACCA) is considered an asset.
Experience in a regulated EU banking environment and familiarity with local MFSA requirements is highly desirable.
