The Senior Business Development Officer will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to further develop our product offering. Understanding the different business needs of each client, support in maintaining strong relationships with clients, attending industry events and conferences are also key to the role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in generating leads both locally and internationally that align with the Bank’s strategic initiatives. 

• Support the Head of Business Development in executing the Bank’s commercial strategy and go-to-market initiatives. 

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Compliance, and Operations  

• Support commercial proposals, client presentations, and business development materials tailored to prospect needs. 

• Contribute insights on market trends, client feedback, and competitive positioning to inform strategic planning. 

• Ensure adherence to regulatory, risk, and compliance standards in all business development activity.

Requirements
  • Understanding of B2B banking solutions, particularly in payments, FX, and digital account services

  • Relationship management and negotiation skills with corporate and institutional clients

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and client orientation

  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency in pipeline management, sales reporting, and CRM tools

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Adaptable to a fast-paced, growing environment with a proactive and solution-oriented approach

  • Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance landscape within European financial services (Maltese market knowledge is a plus

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field

  • 2 years of experience in business development, corporate banking, or fintech sales

  • Demonstrated success in acquiring and managing high-value B2B relationships

  • Background in a regulated financial institution, payments provider, or digital bank is preferred

  • Familiarity with the European and/or Maltese financial services markets and relevant compliance frameworks
